Rising Leader Development Program

Designed for members of the federal service at the GS-9 through GS-12 levels (or equivalent), the program prepares emerging leaders for mid-level and senior leadership roles. This interactive and engaging program guides students as they learn to use individual talents and strengths to be more productive employees who lead with integrity and positivity.

  • Leading with Talents and Strengths
  • Leading with Integrity; values and ethical decision-making 
  • Positive Leadership 

Program Benefits

  • Continuous learning beyond the classroom that spans 10 months
  • Evidence-based concepts and tools taught by George Mason University faculty
  • Follow-on webinars covering topics such as Leadership Communication and Leading with Focus
  • 10 one-on-one leadership coaching sessions with George Mason Certified leadership coaches 
  • Apply in-class learning through field exercise at George Washington’s Mt. Vernon
  • Students remain in their full-time jobs for the duration of the program
